Peanut Masala


Peanut masala is a starter dish which goes well with cocktails and mocktails. This is Spicy and tangy because of adding spice powders and lemon juice. it is one of the best starter to prepare during party at home. I like every bite of this dish and always like to have with mocktail and my favorite soft drink sprite. This is very easy to prepare with few easily available ingredients. I always stock peanuts at home specially to prepare this dish.
The quantity of ingredients that I have given here gives medium spicy taste. You can increase the quantity of chilli powder as per your taste level.

Ingredients:

Raw peanuts 2 cups
Onion finely chopped 1
Tomato finely chopped 1
Lemon juice 2 tsp
Chat masala powder 1 tsp
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
Mustard seeds 1 tsp
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Oil 1 tbsp
Coriander leaves finely chopped
Salt to taste

Instructions:

1.Wash raw peanuts well and soak in water for at least 3 hours. After it is soaked properly you can see increase in size of peanuts.


2.Drain the water completely and pressure cook adding salt and turmeric powder for four whistles.


3.Be careful while pressure cooking because it should not be over cooked. Once again drain the peanuts from cooked water completely.

4.Heat a kadai and add oil when it receives enough heat crackle mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Add cooked peanuts and sauté in a medium flame till all its moisture disappears.


5.Turn off the flame and allow it to cool completely. Take a mixing bowl and add seasoned peanuts. Also add finely chopped onion, tomato coriander leaves and all spice powders.


6.Mix well and sprinkle lemon juice at the end. Combine very well.

7.Your peanut masala is ready to serve.
