I exactly don’t know why this halwa is called as Bombay Karachi halwa but
believe me this is one of the perfect sweet dish that can be prepared on
festive occasions. This halwa is very easy to prepare with few ingredients and
less time consuming. The best thing about this halwa is its chewy texture and transparent
color which make halwa look more attractive. I have used yellow food color in
this recipe but you can also make it pink, orange, green or red. I have
provided recipe step by step with pictures for your convenience. Do try and
serve your loved ones.

Ingredients:
Corn flour ½ cup
Water 1 cup + 1 cup
Sugar 1 cup
Cardamom powder ½ tsp
Lemon half
Food color ½ tsp
Ghee 3 to 4 tbsp
Almonds chopped 3 tsp
Instructions:
1.Dry roast the chopped almonds and keep aside.
2.In a sauce pan add sugar and one cup water and bring it to boil.
When sugar is dissolved completely in water add sprinkle cardamom powder and
stir.
3.Meanwhile add corn flour in to a mixing bowl and add one cup of
water. Let corn flour dissolve completely without any lumps.
4.Also add food color of your choice to the corn flour paste and
mix well.
5.After 10 minutes the sugar syrup will start thickening slightly.
At this time squeeze half lemon to the sugar syrup in order to avoid crystallizing.
6.Add the corn flour paste along with half portion of roasted
almonds to the sugar syrup and keep sautéing without leaving your hands. At
this point the flame should be medium.
7.After few minutes the mixture starts thickening. Add 2 tbsp of
ghee and keep stirring once again.
8.At final stage you will get a very thick mixture and add
remaining ghee. Turn off the flame when ghee will starts leaving from sides of
the halwa mixture.
9.Immediately transfer this mixture any greased plate or glass
container. Drizzle few roasted almonds at the top and spread them equally.
10.After an hour when it is cooled completely cut into desired
shape and serve.
