Bread Masala




Bread Masala is a delicious North Indian snack  which you can find in every restaurants in India. Bread is the major ingredient used to prepare this dish. Bread pieces are spiced up using different spice related ingredients. I have prepared this dish in restaurant style. I have tasted this dish in many hotels but I like Bread Masala from Hotel Diana one of the oldest and famous restaurant in Udupi, India. I would like readers to try this recipe and serve your loved one's.

Preparation ::






  1. Cut bread into large dice and keep aside.
  2. Heat a wide deep bottom pan and add oil. When oil is heated add cumin seeds, cardamom, cloves and ginger garlic paste.
  3. Add sliced onion and chopped capsicum and saute for few minutes. Add finely chopped tomatoes and allow it to cook for about 3-4 minutes. Let these vegetables be almost cooked and crunchy.
  4. Now pour water to form a thick gravy. Add chilli powder, paav bhaji masala powder, salt and sugar and saute in between.
  5. Check for the saltiness and spicy and do add/reduce the quantity of chilli powder and salt.
  6. Add bread pieces and nicely coat the masala (gravy) all over. Let this be in heat for about two minute.
  7. Turn off the flame and garnish Bread Masala with finely chopped coriander leaves and roasted cashews.
  8. Serve them as a snack with the cup of hot Tea/Coffee.
