Preparation :
  1. Cut Brinjal into thin round slices, wash well and add red chilly powder and salt.
  2. Mix properly and keep aside for 10 minutes.
  3. Prepare a chickpea flour batter by adding asafoetida, cooking soda, carom seeds and water.
  4. The consistency should be thick and there should not be any formation of lumps.
  5. Heat oil in a kadai, dip each brinjal slices into batter and drop them into oil.
  6. Fry both sides of the brinjal and make it crisp golden brown.
  7. Drain on absorbent paper and serve hot.
