Dhokla recipe : A Gujarathi Special

4(Slit length wise and cut into half)

Preparation:

  1. In a steamer pour approximate 2-3 cups of water at the bottom and heat it in a medium flame. Make sure that steamer is at least 4-5 minutes heated before placing the plates (filled with batter) in it.
  2. Prepare batter by using following  ingredients, Gram Flour, Semolina, Ginger garlic paste, lemon juice, curd, Water, Salt to taste. Mix them well and make sure there are no lumps.
  3. Add fruit salt and keep stirring for about 1 minute. You can see its size would increase to almost double.
  4. Pour batter immediately to greased plate which should consist about half inch thickness.
  5. Place plates in steamer and cook for about 15 minutes in a medium flame. You can insert a knife or spoon to check if it is baked properly or not.
  6. After baking take plates outside, let it cool for few minutes and cut fluffy dhokla into small square pieces.
