Preparation :
- Chop off the outer skin of raw jackfruit until you get a smooth surface and the thorny outer skin of all jackfruit is gone.
- Then chop off the raw jackfruit into cubes and wash well.
- Using cooker cook them taking 2 whistles. We do not want soft and well cooked Jackfruit.
- Once cooked drain the water and smash them to get small pieces.
Preparing the Masala :
- Heat the small pan, add few drops of oil and fry Urad daal, Coriander seeds and chillies until you get aroma of these three.
- cool them and grind along with grated coconut, tamarind, jaggery and little salt.
- Prepare a dry masala using very little water.
Preparing Chakko :
- In a deep bottomed pan add mustard seeds, once they start popping add curry leaves and 1 dry red chilli.
- Add the ground dry masala, Jaggery and 2 t Spoon of water and cook them in a low flame until it get very dry.
- Add pieces of cooked jackfruit and mix well. In a low flame cook closed until they combine well.
